Land Rover Austin in Austin, Texas is now less than a week away from the unveiling of the new Discovery Sport, and Land Rover is continuing to reveal tidbit glimpses into the realm of this soon-to-be stunning SUV, this time giving us a small tease of the interior space.
This new premium small SUV is the first member of the new Discovery family of vehicles, and the video below will give a tiny taste of the cabin, complete with its flexible 5+2 seating layout. The middle row will be able to both slide and fold, while the optional third row will be able to fold down to maximize trunk space. Other features the video hints at include a high-end audio system and a large panoramic moonroof.
The video also demonstrates the partnership with commercial spaceflight company Virgin Galactic. Promotional campaigns thus far for the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport have focused on themes of exploration, technological innovation, and the evolution of transportation, and it’s looking like Virgin Galactic could sponsor some kind of special-edition Discovery Sport.
Gerry McGovern, Design Director and Chief Creative Officer said, “Versatility is a fundamental element of the Discovery family and with optional 5+2 seating, generous load space and configurable seating the new Discovery Sport truly deserves to wear the Discovery badge. What this footage also showcases is the high cabin quality and craftsmanship of the highly desirable Discovery Sport.”
Previewed by the Discovery Vision concept in New York, Land Rover Austin can now confirm that the Discovery Sport will replace the LR2 in Land Rover’s lineup next year. Stay tuned for the reveal on September 3rd and take a peek at the footage in the meantime.
Land Rover Austin would like to share with you what is sure to be the journey of a lifetime with the 25th Anniversary of the Great Divide!
Back in 1989, Land Rover set forth on an ambitious and daring adventure throughout the Continental Divide in Colorado. With the Rocky Mountains surrounding a caravan of Range Rovers, drivers navigated their way along a route that took almost two years to develop!
To commemorate this legendary journey, a barrage of Range Rovers will now travel nearly 1,000 miles through tough terrains from Denver to Telluride along the original Great Divide route. Throughout the expedition, participants will navigate challenging trails and steep mountain passes using stock 2014 Range Rovers, and will be guided by expert Land Rover driving instructors. This excursion is geared for both novice and avid off-road enthusiasts, and the vastly gorgeous scenery and fresh mountain air will be quite a treat to experience.
“The story of Land Rover has long been written on mountain passes and remote trails,” said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President of Land Rover North America. “By commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Great Divide and of Tread Lightly!, Land Rover reaffirms its continued commitment to off-road capability and environmental responsibility.”
The ten day journey starts on September 3rd and ends on the 12th, so if you would like to find it if there are still spots available feel free to call us here at Land Rover Austin and we will happily assist you.
