With 2014 drawing to a close, Land Rover Austin in Austin, Texas has decided that it’s time to clue our fans in on what they can look forward to in the coming new year.
The biggest news of course is the introduction of the all-new Discovery Sport which goes on sale in early 2015. This sporty and well appointed SUV is available exclusively with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that dishes out 240 horses and is paired with a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle will also feature a unique 5+2 seating arrangement to accommodate larger families.
Next up is the Range Rover Evoque which will adopt some new electronic driver aids. The Evoque will now be equipped with Reverse Traffic Detection along with the Blind Spot Monitor option, and Perpendicular Park assist for vehicles with the Advanced Park Assist option.
The LR4, which is set to be renamed the Discovery for its next generation, gets Jaguar Land Rover’s latest InControl apps and smartphone system for 2015. The system brings the familiarity of compatible smartphone apps into the vehicle, with access from a connected phone through the standard touchscreen. The 2015 LR4 will also include side steps as a standard feature.
The always enchanting high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR is also on the list for the new year. This incredible machine marks the first performance vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover’s new SVO division and is promised to be one of the fastest SUVs on the market. Its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 delivers an astonishing 550 horsepower, which will launch it from 0-60 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds.
Last but not least we have the ever-so-popular Range Rover. The only change for 2015 will be the availability of the HSE trim on the Range Rover Long-Wheelbase variant that was introduced this year. Before it was only available on the Supercharged and Autobiography trims
