The Invictus Games kicks off with the Jaguar Land Rover Challenge that will take place on Saturday, September 23. One of the trials will use the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR and the other will utilize the All-New Land Rover Discovery. This challenge is aimed to test the teams’ communication, strategic planning skills, and teamwork.

“The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces Team exemplify the relentless determination of our retired and active-duty service members,” Joe Eberhardt, Jaguar Land Rover, North America, LLC, President and CEO, said. “We are proud to continue our support of the team and wish them the best of luck as they compete at the upcoming Games in Toronto.”

Land Rover Unveils ‘Legacy Wall’

Land Rover Austin is proud of Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to making a difference in the community around them. Recently, a ‘Legacy Wall’ was unveiled at Jaguar Land Rover’s Engine Manufacturing Center (EMC), near Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

The Legacy Wall was the idea of Jaguar Land Rover Machining Manager, Jon Stanley, and supports Midlands Air Ambulance, EMC’s official charity. Stanley initially got the idea for the Legacy Wall from a wall he saw at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

“I was standing outside the Children’s Hospital, with my family, where the Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter landed nearby,” Stanley said. “As we were moved to accommodate the landing, we noticed a brick-built wall, inscribed with initials. It referred to a building fundraiser launched by the hospital in 1913. The public had contributed one guinea to sponsor a brick that is still evident today. It got me thinking about how we could sue the idea and I brought it back to the EMC to discuss with members of our People Committee and they loved it.”

The Legacy Wall was unveiled by 11-time gold medal winning equestrian Paralympian and Midlands Air Ambulance ambassador, Sir Lee Pearson. He received life-sating services firsthand when he had a riding accident.

The Legacy Wall is comprised of more than 250 brushed aluminum-style plaques that were each sponsored an EMC employee. The fundraiser raised more than $3,400 for Midlands Air Ambulance. Over the past two years, the EMC has contributed over $18,000 to Midlands Air Ambulance.

The Jaguar Land Rover EMC was officially opened in 2014 and is where Jaguar Land Rover’s “Ingenium family of low-emission turbo-charged Petrol and Diesel engines” are engineered, designed, and manufactured.

Jaguar Land Rover remains committed to their community and making a difference.

Velar Makes West Coast Debut

With the new highly-anticipated Range Rover Velar going on sale in a few weeks, Land Rover deemed it time for the Range Rover Velar to make its West Coast debut. At Westime on Sunset Boulevard, a renowned watch retailer, Land Rover and Zenith put together a special preview of the Range Rover Velar and the Zenith Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar Special Edition watch.

Land Rover is anticipating California to be a top market for the new Velar. This exciting preview allowed VIP Westime, Land Rover, and Zenith customers to view and experience the Range Rover Velar before it arrives at retailers next month.

“The Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity, elegance, and a touch of glamour to the Range Rover family,” Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer, said. “The Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar, created with these very same principles, comes with a bloodline like no other and is refined for every occasion.”

The Range Rover Velar completes the missing piece in the Range Rover family. It fits quite nicely between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. Land Rover is proud to continue their tradition of innovation, coupled with superior design, attention to detail, and advanced technologies. The Range Rover Velar will also offer a sustainable option for seat materials, a woven upholstery material, if owners choose to forgo leather.

The Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar is the second watch Zenith has created during their partnership with Land Rover. It features a 42 mm ceramised aluminum case and beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour. It comes with a “brushed gray dial with copper-toned details.”

The Range Rover Velar will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s production facility in Solihull, United Kingdom, and it goes on sale in the United States in September. The Range Rover Velar will be priced from $49,900.
